About
My love of photography started in high school as I always carried a point and shoot camera in my purse just in case. In college I took several photography classes but soon decided that a start up studio was outside my means and instead chose a career in nursing. After having a child I realized that it would be fun to create photography sets that were tailored to her interests in different stages of her growth. Soon I was needing to learn all about studio lighting and better quality image making so I signed up to be an apprentice with a seasoned wedding photographer in his studio in Madison, Al. As his health was failing he learned to take my help and I learned to take his photography advise. It was fun shooting weddings for him and doing all types of portrait work. However, I learned quickly it was demanding job and usually involved after hours work that conflicted with family time so I kept it to part time and freelance.
Now that I am retired I have fallen in love with another facet of this incredible hobby, nature and wildlife photography. Everyday that I go out into nature I am amazed with the intricate design of all of God’s creations. They are so perfectly engineered for survival in very interesting ways. Photography has rewarded me many times over by giving me joy in sharing the beauty of the world around us. It is my hope that the next generation will learn to appreciate how precious and fragile life is and become better stewards and protect the world.
